Renter Revolt

(Director of  Photography)

Kansas City used to be a cheap place to find an apartment till soaring housing prices sent rents up.  Filmmakers Isabel Evans and Marly Cogan paint a thoughtful picture of one working mom fighting to change things.

Film premiered on Time Magazine.

Corporate FM

(Film-maker, Director of  Photography)

This issue had bothered me ever since the rock station in my home town flipped formats after Rolling Stone voted it in the top 10 in the nation.  I never felt there was a really thoughtful explanation for the flip.  So I made a movie and uncovered something much bigger than I anticipated.

Available on TubiAmazon and at fmfilm.com.

Girls State

(Sound Mixer)

The joy of doing sound is that you get to hear a more complete story.  In this case I heard the story of Toschi and Nisha as they navigated the surreal camp of Girls State. Their stories are woven into a larger film crafted by husband and wife team Jesse Moss and Amanda McBaine.

Available on Apple TV.

Dirty Money: "Pay Day"

(Location Sound Recordist)

There was no lighting department on this job, so in addition to location sound, I helped DP Thorsten Thielow achieve some chiaroscuro looking interviews that I'm very proud of. It was also fun to deal with such a sensitive topic.

Directed by Jesse Moss, Edited by David Moyes, EP Alex Gibney.

Hallmark "Squawkin"

(Director of Photography, Codirector)

I wasn't going to put this on my site, but I noticed that people always watch it twice.  It was fun to light the colored background and urge kids to be crazy.  Can you tell I put a mic on the chicken? Written and Codirected by Trevan McGee.  Edited by Andy Miriani.

Eclipse of the Sun as an auditory experience.

Perfect Union: Worked to Death
(Director of Photography)

The people in this video didn't have time to visit friends and family because their base pay was so low.  This allowed Frito-Lay to not feel any pinch when their works went into overtime.  So they intentionally put them into overtime to avoid paying health benefits to a larger swath of employees. Frito-Lay just ran the few employees they had to death.
